Hi All,
Just received a job offer for Riyadh. I am British living in Coventry. I am aware that it will be a big cultural change for me. But even so its a total unknown for me and somewhat daunting.
Initially I will be living on my own (approx 12 months), my wife will stay in UK until my daughter finishes senior school and goes off to University.

I am looking for an apartment in a nice compound - any ideas greatly received.

Can my wife & daughter come out and visit me? I believe visas are restricted?

Any other ideas and help again greatly received.

Thanks Ade

Welcome @mgreddog to expat-blog,

I presume you'll be landing on a residential visa instead of the 'visitor'. Or somehow, the initial visit visa status will be converted to the residential soon.

The visit visas are not restricted. It's nothing more than applying online and getting it approved in 3-4 days.

All the best!

I have been to a few compounds in Riyadh, and I like Al-Hamra Compound the most. It's expensive though.

You'll find a long waiting list there so check out some other options, too.

If you read the guide ( https://www.expat.com/en/guide/middle-e … ation.html ) you'll get some more ideas.

Best of luck :)
