Car duty for returning resident

Can anyone please tell me how much duty would i need to pay on a BMW x5 year 2002. I am looking to move in july and need to bring my car. or if anyone can tell me the value of the car in mauritius so i can work out the duty as per the MRA website it says 15% duty + 15% vat.

I would be very grateful.

By what I know, BMW should be request to pay duty when you important from aboard. Whatever used or new.
And if you regiest a company in Mauritius, you could refund Vat part when you import your Vehicle from aboard. But it's only Pick Up or mini bus more than 7 seats.
BMW, no. I think so.

LINBA I think you are referring to normal import of cars. In the case of FarahSheik, there is a special scheme put in place by the Ministry of Finance. I remember that they precisely call it 'REturning Resident Scheme' but I'm not sure whether it still exists. Farah, you need to contact the Ministry of Finance and they will inform you on procedures to follow so that you may benefit from duty exemption. Welcome back to Mauritius, if I may say so!
