I agree with Blueabaya there are things to do in Riyadh but you need to find it and need to be creative! I spent 8 years in Riyadh but have now moved back to London with my family. We loved it in Riyadh and do miss it.

One website you can visit is the Riyadh one;

Aramco hold events for families, women and kids in Riyadh, Jeddah and the Eastern Province during major holidays.

In Riyadh you can watch Camel Racing, visit Reem, go Quad biking, martial arts in Malaz, Golf (families), various bike clubs exist (motorcycle and Push bikes) etc

If you still feel bored then go to Jareer and buy yourself a decent novel.

Ok, Im British BUT we do not live in a compound- because of this im findng it difficult to be able to attend any sort of activities in compounds. Im still dying of boredom. Please please please inform me of ANY Hash, BBQs,festivals,islamic circles,coffee mornings,yoga classes,trekking trips,salsa classes.... from today onwards ie AFTER 28th Feb 2012. Cheers people    Also is there a 'cultural centre' or library in Riyadh and if so does anyone know the opening times and if women are allowed to attend.

selma2012 - This seems to be the very common case here for everybody, whether male or a female (singles). And advice would be to check the ''LADIES'' forum/thread on the Expat.com and I'm sure it would be really helpful for you.
