This question is, of course, for ALL here but especially for native english people. How do you feel like when you find someone writing down wrong spellings of words again and again?

Do you let it go barely noticing or ..... !?

Alliecat

Okay, glad you asked!

Speaking for myself, yes, of course I notice but I just remember that many of you are communicating in your second (or third or fourth!) language and doing MUCH better than I'd be doing in YOUR language!!!

The only thing I really can't tolerate is text-speak; using 'u' for you and 'gr8' for great, for example. There's no excuse for that if you're not on a mobile phone.

TheLegendLeads

hmmm... Seems matter of 'tolerance' for you @Alliecat but actually you don't like typos; and abbrs for the sake of brevity is something you hate. Isn't it? :)

Alliecat

I clearly expressed admiration for those who are speaking English as a second language.  What else do you want from me?

TheLegendLeads

Nothing, Was just trying to make sure I'm getting it right.
Many Thanks!

For me, it all depends on the context.  If I were reading a technical journal/article then there is absolutely no excuse for words to be spelled incorrectly.

If I were reading a blog .... ehhhh ....  Like Alliecat has mentioned, I have a lot of admiration for folks who learn English as an additional language.  I have met some good folks from here and I feel comfortable enough to correct them.
