Creative Jobs in Doha

Hi Everyone!

I am a photographer / Designer in Australia and am hoping to make the move to Doha early next year (Feb/March 2012).

I am finding it hard to come across any creative job vacancies or any agencies that specialise in the arts/design work - Am I looking at the right websites (bayt.com and gulftalent.com)?

I have been looking for the past 4 months and I am starting to lose sight of ever getting over!

I know Doha is big in the gas and oil industries, but surely there is a team out there looking for someone new, someone creative?!

Please help if you know of any jobs / agencies for Doha. I have the skills and the passion to do great things... but I just need an opportunity.

Thank you in advance!

Hi Badomski and welcome to Expat.com!

Why don't you post an advert in Doha classifieds > jobs section. This may be helpful.;)

All the best,
Harmonie.:)

One word of advice in gaining employment in the gulf..emails are quite redundant. There are plenty of boots already on the ground. Perhaps go for a visit and line up some interviews and target some companies. Also, to keep in mind..salaries are also place dependant. i.e Someone from Oz, Europe or America will be getting higher salaries than people from certain parts of the world. So keep this in mind when competing for jobs too. You seriously do not want to end up in the middle east and have financial problems..!!

Have you considered looking at the UAE perhaps? The creative industry is somewhat more developed there. Just a thought.

Also, you will be un-able to move until you have secured work unless you have a Qatari passport I'm afraid.

Use LinkedIn if you don't already, and google 'qatar living'..
