Hi Exion,

Maybe you could also have a look at the blogs written by expatriates living in Oman.

I hope other members will advise you soon.

All the best,
Christine

Hello

Looks like no one reads the Oman pages!!

Well, if you ask me, I would like to visit Khasab and the time is just right to see the Dolphins.  Mussandam is known as the Norway of the Middle East - once you visit Mussandam, you will know why!!!

Apart from Mussandam Province, you could also visit Salalah if you feel like a good drive from Bahla (that's where you are, I take it?)  Drive to Salalah and visit "Zero Gravity" - there is a place off the main road where your car will move due to gravitational forces - no effort of driver or car - pure gravitational pull!!!

Then when you are in Salalah, you need to drive to Rusayl - that is on the way to the Yemeni border - there you will see the "blowhole" where water from the sea comes in and shoots fountains of water in the air - a sight not to be missed!!  Drive further towards the Yemeni border and see the brilliant civil engineering skills undertaken by the highway engineers who carved brilliant stretches of road through the rocks!!!  It is an awesome experience driving in that part of the world - no speeding but simply a thrilling experience for a motorist!!!

Then you have Khantab Beach in Muscat to visit, the beaches at Sohar and Sur.  I may have missed out on Nizwa and also the caves of Al Hoota.  You need the Google Al Hoota Caves and go visit the place yourself to see the beauty of these caves.

Cheers

well, i completely agree with sammymelder...just wanted 2 add MY personal favorite places 4 the weekend: seefa (a remote beach 2 which a fascinatin road thru the maountains leads)as well as yitti for bbq'in or also wadi shab 4 a nice picnic or even campin in the wadi, have a swim, enjoy dancin, maybe drinkin, n surely havin shisha (hookah - hubble bubble) n of course enjoyin  full nature....jabal shams is also amazin (it was more than chilly in summer...so it's a kind of complete weather change of what 1 suffers from here)...i also heard jabal al akhdar is nice (never been it myself, though)..
