Any advice from Japanese?

I am a Chinese male who's interested in Japanese culture. I propose a trip to Japan, in this year or next. Now I have several questions to be answered.

1. How long does it take to tour around Japan?
2. May I travel by myself speaking Mandarin and English?
3. Could you recommend me some tourist attraction?

1. This is absolutely impossible to answer. Think about it.

2. Yes, but skip the Mandarin. Speak English slowly and as clearly as possible, and be prepared to write a lot. Rural areas might pose more communication problems.

3. What!? Why are you even interested in Japan in the first place? If you want some tourist info, look at a guide book, the JNTO web site, or the Lonely Planet Thorntree discussion site.
