I am a citizenship of EU, excellent English and Russian, also Latvian, lower intermediate German, Spanish - beginner. Thinking of moving to Alicante or other city which is close to the sea with my mom. What do you think about it? Is economical crisis tough there?

Spainrico

Yes I am afraid it is - many people unemployed, empty commercial premises and lots of houses for sale. probably now is not a good time to come.

Petrus

Yes - now is a very bad time with unemployment at 4 million.

Without excellent Spanish you are unlikely to get a job, however some of the local builders are trying to attract Russian buyers - there may be an opening in an estate agent for a Russian speaker . ( but there are already many Russian speakers on the Costa Blanca who will have excellent Spanish  )

Many estate agents are actually going out of business - [moderated: broken link] - this I think is a Russian agent.

Good luck
