As an American married to a Ukrainian woman, Will I need to get a Ukrainian Visa/Passport if I plan on living in the country.We plan on returning to the USA once a year for a few months. We plan on purchasing a home there and I wonder if I need some form of Ukrainian documents that allow me to make decisions with our property or bank accounts if my wife is unable.

To decide which visa you need it is necessary to understand how lond you plan to stay in Ukraine, how much you are going to pay for a house (if more than 100 th Euro then there is a possibility to get a permanent residency certificate). If your wife is unable she can give you a POA.

I plan on fulltime retirement in the Ukraine with yearly trips back to USA. We are planning on spending 20-40K, my wife is very healthy, this is just a what if question. The POA is a good idea. What about getting a Ukrainian drivers license. Do they provide testing in English? Is there a website for Americans in the Ukraine?
