Broadband for Chervena, near Levski

Hi Everyone

I bought a house which needs a lot of work.

I am moving there with my caravan to live in. Which broadband is the best one for the area?

Which mobile SIM card is reliable for the area?

Who do I contact for have the electric connected?

Check your locality to see which if the electricity companies supplies your area. Take your notary deed and ID with you, also company documents if you bought through one.Check your wiring V carefully!

Check Google for which internet companies supply your village.

Most mobile companies cover the whole country; Vivacom are the main mobile and internet suppliers throughout - the others just buy from them and sell on. Only customer service and price vary.

Hi Jim

Thank you for your advice.

What do you mean by checking your wiring V carefully?

I heard of Vivacom.

Thanks

@BangonRight. Be lovely to hear how you're doing. My husband and I are doing exactly the same thing,living in our caravan until the house is ready. We will be in Ostritsa

Everything is taking so long,and I expect winter will have set in before we leave the UK Not ideal I know

@BangonRight

If the house needs a lot of work, the wiring will probably need ripping out and replacing - just reconnecting might set the place on fire. Likewise, some "recyclers" might have already ripped some/all of it out and flogged it for scrap ...

Hi Joy

I consider it an adventure. Just being free and doing what you want to do.

I am still in the UK and waiting for house to be sold.

I bought the house in Chervena last week.

Keep me posted with your new project. Ant tips, please pass them over and vice versa.

@JimJ

Ah Jim,

Thanks for the tip. I will check the wiring before having the electricity connected.

I hope it all works out well for you, and you get a lot done before the cold weather hits!

Best mobile and broadband will vary.  You probably have roaming enabled on your mobile phone with a SIM from your home country. Seeing which mobile network your phone connects to and which gives best signal might help you decide.

If you bought from an agent, they may be able to help get the electric connected, or as long as you have all the paperwork, you can do it at the electric company office.  But as Jim said, be careful. Ours was still connected as the house had only been vacant two years, and just needed switching on at the post. Didn't burn the house down, but it was very very dodgy - part 1980s bodge job, part original 1950s. One of the first jobs after fixing the roof was to get an electrician in.  He did a great job at a very reasonable price.
