Yes, there is, through an authorized visa agent in Vietnam IF there isn't an unknown problem, such as being on the blacklist.

2) will the airline deny me boarding if i have no visa to show?

Yes, the airline will definitely deny boarding if you don't have a valid visa for Vietnam.

3) can anyone recommend a reliable BKK based Vietnam visa service?

No, no, no, no, no. Don't even think about that, unless you go to the Vietnam Embassy or consulate to get a visa directly from them.

Or any reliable online service for the Vietname visa?
