Hello everyone,  just a quick hello from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Winnipeg is too hot in the summer and floods every spring, it is too cold in the winter, usually Oct to Apr and Manitoba's national bird is the mosiquote.  I am retiring next year and hoping to move to Costa Rica.  If anyone has any advice on Lawyers, Real Estate Agents, Places to look, etc, I would be very interested in hearing from you.  I am looking for new construction and a lot not bigger than 1 acre and a total budget of about $210K.  Again Hello and I hope to hear from you soon.

Suggest you visit with a 90 day tourist visa and travel, travel, travel.
both coasts, and the mountains (to avoid the hot weather)
CR is many different things, that you alone must select for:
no single best place, rent in the area before you buy.
You will (eventually) need your own lawyer, but do avoid agents
(RE commissions are 5% in CR, the agent may have bumped the price 50% - and you will never know it; this is not for the seller, the agent will pocket the bump plus his 5% of what is paid to the seller)
