I am in the process of buying a Maison dote a Tanger.

I will be very grateful for any feedback/suggestions to the following:

-As a US citizens and professor in NYC (teaching online) residing most of the year in Morocco:

Do I need a Moroccan carte de sejour to get a loan from a Moroccan Bank to buy the property?
What are the best Moroccan banks to deal with for expats?

Hello,

As Legal advisor i suggest to make a legal and finnancial due dilligence on the property before buying to make sure that everything is clear and you will not face any surprise after.

For the bank loan yes you need to be resident to get it.

For expats i advise to open with bank of africa.

Hello , welcome to morocco , i live in tanger too and i am darija teacher .

For your question : you can't get loan if you don't have residency but maybe there is a deal with your bank and moroccan bank about get loan from your bank and the moroccan bank present it in Morocco .

Bank of africa is famous by his ability to make foreign clients happy .

Which area the property is and of course you need to check many things before make the final decision .
