There is no doubt that Kuala Lumpur have the best means of transportation among all the cities of Malaysia, which is not surprising being the capital city of the country.
Transportation are well developed but like most thing in Malaysia, maintenance need to be improved and there are ample room for further improvement.

Safety??? It is never save to drive in Kuala Lumpur. You get lunatics on the road 
Yes! I uses public transportation to save earth with less pollution caused by congested traffic jam in the city and furthermore it is a form of physical exercise due to the good amount of 'walking' & 'sweating'!

Please do not hesitate to seek for assistance as generally, Malaysian are very helpful if you approach them humbly. Add a few simple greetings in the local language like 'Selamat Pagi' (Good Morning) and end the conversation with 'Terima Kasih' (Thank you). You will definitely see the differences in their reactions.
