Does Vietnam visa approval letter need to be faxed to the embassy?

Hi everybody,

I received my visa approval letter for work purpose and called the Vietnamese embassy in my country to proceed issuing a sticker visa; however, they informed me they will not do anything for me until they receive a fax from Vietnam (perhaps immigration). Is it the way? I waited 7 days for the approval letter and now waited already 4 days for a single fax and still nothing! How long should I wait for this fax? Tnx

@Milad Mosapoor

the procedure has been fax dependent for months. Some have waited for weeks. Talk with your sponsoring company.

Now that you have an approval letter, you can get a Visa agent to assist you.

It's the first time I hear about faxes... In fact the right procedure  is your sponsor the one who will receive the approved letter. Then your sponsor can share you the scanned approved letter via email, then you print it and once you arrive to Vietnam in the airport you must give your passport, your pictures and the printed letter to the immigration office... They will take some 10 minutes to attach the sticker visa to your passport and Welcome to Vietnam!

Again, your answer sounds so logical.

It's a shame it's wrong.

Conceivably, IF a person could present themselves at an entry point under those exact circumstances, it might be possible for that to happen as you say.

Just one significant problem: No airline in the world is going to allow someone to board a flight to Vietnam when the only official document they can produce is an approval letter for employment.

This is why the approval letter must be used to secure a visa or visa on arrival approval BEFORE the foreigner presents themselves at the departure airport for their flight to Vietnam.

Very good observation.

All visitors should take note.

Approval to board a flight is always the prerogative of the airline(s) (connecting flights included).

That's an especially important point.

Let's say (random example) that a person books an itinerary from Romania at OTP airport to Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) with 1 stop in Istanbul (IST).

The airline from OTP to IST may or may not require a Vietnam visa prior to boarding that flight, but the flight from IST to SGN certainly will demand proof of a visa (based on many reports I've read complaining about this on social media).

Bad news for anyone coming here without a visa who was approved to board in OTP but denied boarding in IST.
