Does any one know a place where one can buy from a really really but I mean REALLY good chocolate cake?

Fontanella, Mdina.....

THE BEST CAKES IN MALTA

IMHO ;)

lucyanya

I make my own, if you don't find one I can send you some nice recipes.  Ideally,  try cooking all of them one at a time 'for testing purposes'.....

Then pick the one you want....grin.

Even our Maltese friend and neighbour drives all the way from Sliema to Mdina to get a choc cake from Fontanella !

She knows no better source -))))

Except maybe home-made ! And testing all of them ......

Cheers

Fontanella is definitely the best on the island and they even do home delivery.

There is also a small cafe in Gzira called A1 which is in front of you if you are next to KFC (with KFC on you're right). They just do it by the slice though but their chocolate cake is divine!

Myrkur

Thanks for your comments :) my colleagues also recommended Fontanella but I also wanted to see what people here have to say :) Oh cooking myself definitely no no lol i'd probably have to do it a 100 times before I get it right haha!

Hello,

I am baking cakes and also with sort decoration as martipan or fondant. Is there any chance to work in a cake shop or to bake cakes at home to sell them?
What sort documents do I need for that?
Greetings
Mayan

There is a little cafe in Attard called Santa Lucia. Im not sure what the chocolate cake is like, but the cherry cheesecake is amazing!

ricky

Hi,

you will have to find a cake shop to apply for a work permit for you. That might prove difficult. Without a work permit Romanian citizens are not allowed to work in Malta.

Please check out previous posts in the visa and formality sections. You will find a lot of related information.

Thank you Ricky. At this moment I do live in Holland where I have residence permit.
Greetings

ricky

Hi Mayan,

you would also get a residence permit for Malta but the work permit in Malta is not that easy. It is the same procedure as in Holland.

What if I am coming with dutch passport? Then I don't need work permit ...:)

ricky

Hi Mayan,

no , of course you wouldn't need a work permit with a Dutch passport :)

But then you should change your profile to Dutch and Romanian -)))

If you ever go to Gozo...check out Jessica's in Marsalforn. Love their cakes and very inexpensive.
