I am going to be living and working about an hour NE of Beijing. Are there expat hang outs near Pinggu (I think is how its spelled). Any advice on do's and dont's

Are you a Peach expert? Pinggu is part of rural Beijing and is best known for its Peaches.
I think your one hour is not accurate and would guestimate that it will take you over two hours to get from Pinggu (where in Pinggu, it is a large area) to downtown Beijing.
Maybe some one can correct but I can not think of anything expat friendly in g. Your nearest area with a high density of expats will be the Shunyi villa area.

Thanks for the heads up....not sure exactly where. I have been told by my company I will have an apartment provided in a 15 story building. I would think that will be in some sort of a city. I was told I will be about an hour from Beijing.
