How/where to rent a room in Santo Domingo? Help!

Hi - I am planning to hang out in Santo Domingo for 1 month and I only have about 3 weeks to find something. I would like to find a room to rent with other people (preferably women). However, I want to stay with dominicans, not expats, to get as much immersion as possible. I need to be in an area where there are local things to do (e.g., local nightlife). I want to avoid places that cater to english speakers. I'm a young professional and would prefer to find similar people to live with. Any ideas on how I can go about finding this and in which areas I should be looking?
