Keeping a visa card account operational is difficult. You will be called in personally to a bank branch to verify your existence every few months. Even doing that won't mean your card will work. After being out of the country for some months my accounts were locked and I could not even see my balance when logging into internet banking. This is my experience with ******. I don't know if other Bulgarian bank branches can offer a reliable service. Can Any on recommend a more reliable banking service?

KBC group of banks seem easier to work with than your current provider in my experience.

I hope you're able to get access to your account!

The neobanks like Wise or Revolut don't offer credit cards, but their debit cards are very useful and work well in Bulgaria. No hassles as it's all on online and they are ideal for people who don't live permanently in one place.
