IMI for my rural property

Hi everyone, I bought a rural property and want to ensure I pay the annual property taxes, I was informed by an accountant that rural properties are exempt, is this correct? It seems at odds with the information I found on google, which indicated that rural properties pay more IMI than urban properties. I am confused and do not know where to begin, any advice would be highly appreciated

My property has an urban licence and a farm.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Your accountant has misinformed you.... Rural properties also pay IMI (municipal property tax), although usually less than urban properties.

Access this link with your NIF & password at the AT Finanças website, and check the collection notes of the property tax (IMI, imposto municipal sobre imóveis). Choose the year, and if it has status "Pago" in each collection note issued is because it is already paid.
