Cap Cana: looking for input...

My wife (Bernadette) and I are staying in Cap Cana in March and are looking to understand the "feel" of the area. Can anyone who has stayed there for a month or better share their thoughts?  We visited there last March and the impression was it was very quite, almost too quite.  In a perfect world we would meet a few folks who own or rent over the winter months.  We enjoy both pools and the beach, reading and going out occasionally for a meal.

Most likely we will buy or wait to have built a 2 bed room Condo within a golf carts ride to the beach.

Thanks for the replies in advance (what can I say, I am an optimist)

Cap cana is very quiet indeed.

With everything you mentioned i would suggest you to check out cocotal instead, cap cana (to me) is a place where you go relax on the weekend to be secluded . It's overall sort of boring but it is a beautiful place!

I chose it because it is what I wanted. Everyone has different preferences on what they enjoy.
