The ideal pathway to work as a non-native english teacher in Thailand?

Hello to everyone.

My dream is working as a non native english teacher in Thailand.

I have a degree (in architecture) and i studied a IELTS course (not yet got a certificate)

what is your suggestion to achieve my goal?

Celta (more expensive) or TEFL to add more value to my CV?

Thanks in advance!

Teaching is quite similar to other lines of work. For example, if someone wanted to work as an architect, they'd probably check some job ads online, look for those that look like a good fit, then apply with an e-mail message with CV attached.
Basically, you should do the same thing, although you should be aware that there are various types of teaching jobs ranging from kindergarten to university and language schools.

Regarding qualifications, get the CELTA, if you've got the time and money. In the long term, it might be better to go ahead and further your education with a master's in Architecture and possibly teach in an international programme

Thank you so much John.

At first sight, I saw there is a big difference between private schools and public schools salaries.

That's true, but the salary is only one of the factors that need to be considered. Location (travel time), start and finish times, requirement to be on campus, extra duties and responsibilities, etc. are also important.

BTW, if your background includes science and math and you can teach STEM subjects that would be a big plus. You also need to check if you have the necessary qualifications, of course.
