Visa realities in 2023.

Prospective retirees considering Ecuador

received a shock one year ago (March 2022)

when the minimum income for pension and

rentista  (non-pension recipients) visas

jumped from $425 to $1275 per month.

The amount could go incrementally higher

in '23 or '24 as it is based on three times

the basic salary average in Ecuador.

Professional visas, based on having an

accredited-university or college degree,

may be a less expensive route for visa

applicants who qualify via their education

credentials.
