Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements

We are looking for a Hotel Front Desk Receptionist to serve as our guests' first point of contact and manage all aspects of their accommodation.

Hotel Front Desk Receptionist responsibilities include registering guests, managing reservations and providing information about rooms, rates and amenities.

The ideal candidate will have a friendly and easy going personality while also being very perceptive and disciplined. You should be able to deal with compliments, complaints and give accurate information. A customer-oriented approach is essential, along with computer skills.

The goal is to make guests and visitors feel comfortable and valued while on our premises. Ultimately, you will help create a pleasant and memorable stay for our guests.

If you have a knack for customer service and related work experience in the hotel or similar industry, you enjoy working with a team, we'd like to meet you.

Responsibilities

Greet and welcome guests as they approach the front desk

Answer questions and address complaints

Provide information about our hotel, available rooms, rates and amenities

Respond to clients' complaints in a timely and professional manner

Keep front desk tidy and presentable with all necessary material

Perform all check-in and check-out tasks on the computer

Manage online and phone reservations

Inform customers about payment methods and verify their credit card data

Register guests collecting necessary information ( contact details and exact dates of their stay)

Confirm group reservations and arrange personalized services for VIP customers and event attendees, such as workshops and wedding guests

Communicate with our housekeeping staff to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy and ready to accommodate guests' needs

Check and prep rooms prior to guest arrival

Welcome guests upon their arrival and guide them to their rooms, assist with luggage as needed

Upsell additional facilities and services, when appropriate

Maintain updated records of bookings and payments

Set lights and music in main house as needed, morning and evening

Monitor the living areas and refresh as needed, especially after groups depart

Assist other staff as needed, with breakfast service or evening wine pours

Complete errands on behalf of owner/manager, and other duties as requested by management

Contribute to activities associated with Casa de la Noche

Skills

Requirements

Preferred - experience in hotel or hospitality work

Experience and comfort with computers, telephone, social media. Hotel reservations software a plus

Understanding of how travel planning websites operate, such as Booking, TripAdvisor and Expedia

Customer service attitude

Excellent communication skills in English & Spanish (oral & written)

Excellent organizational skills & multitasking abilities

Diplomas

High School diploma; additional qualifications will be a plus
