Virtual Internships is a recent start-up that provides remote internships with companies of varying size, sector and industry so that interns can gain valuable work experience with companies tailored to their choice. There are fantastic opportunities for students and recent graduates to do an internship with international or domestic companies, develop remote working skills, and not have to worry about the travel and living costs, whether in another city in the intern’s home country or abroad. In addition, these internships can be done according to the student or graduate’s preferred schedule, since there are full time and part time opportunities, and so they can be done separate to, or alongside, their studies.
Introduction to the role

This individual will be responsible for all operational aspects within the company. The individual will oversee the entire customer journey, from customer acquisition to onboarding and customer success, and will oversee how all these parts align via the platform, CRM and other tools. This role will suit someone who is self-motivated, and is able to think outside the box to overcome operational issues, and always strive to make these processes more efficient. This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the business and there are significant opportunities for career development and salary progression.

Tasks and responsibilities:

Oversee the admissions, matching and placement processes, where candidates join the program, and are matched and placed with a relevant host company, managing the team members responsible for each part of this journey

Oversee the internship program itself, and how interns are provided with their placement, coaching and training, managing the team members responsible for these different areas

Work directly with the founders on high level strategy and change implementation

Internal operations including accounts, finance and HR
Ad hoc implementation and execution of ad-hoc initiatives as and when business needs dictate

Has graduated from a top university
Has at least 3 years of experience in operations, strategy and/or consulting
Ability to work in a dynamic environment, and is able to execute on a variety of wide-ranging tasks, on their own and within a team
Able to take initiative and think creatively when overcoming problems
Can understand various different perspectives, and how to apply this understand to a seamless customer journey that allows for revenue generating opportunities such as retention and/or upselling

Nice to have:
Has experience as a CRM Admin (Zoho)
Has experience making integrations between various digital tools (Zoho CRM, Talent LMS, Zapier, Google Drive)
Proficient using Xero, Calendly and Stripe
Is prepared to oversee aspects from a high-level, but is also prepared to get their hands dirty and execute on a variety of tasks
Has experience working with customers and businesses, and is able to manage personal relationships with them on a large scale
Has experience managing a team, both in person and remotely
Has worked in a fast-growing startup environment before
Is open to the idea of travel and potentially overseas work in Vietnam or in the UK
