Description

DESCRIPTION
Goutte d’eau is seeking a Technical Advisor for Disability to work across two main projects of DT for children and adults with physical and mental disabilities:
-Residential Center for young adults with mental disabilities including farm activities in Kep
-New disability program for children with disabilities and their families (Group Homes, Rehabilitation and day cay center) in Neak Loeung

GLOBAL OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION
-Ensure the organization of the centers in order to prepare it to more autonomy
-Strengthen the local staff abilities (coordinators and educators)
-Ensure a high standard of the disability projects in Kep and Neak Loeung

ACTIVITIES

Strengthen local staff abilities:
-Support the coordinators activities in their different tasks (management, planning…) and evaluate them
-Follow, monitor and evaluate the work of the educators and physiotherapists and give regular feedback
-Identification of the training needs among the staff and focus one priorities

-Organize training and workshops for the staff, or contact partners to lead trainings among the staff of Kep and Neak Loeung

Work with and for the beneficiaries:
-Ensure the quality of the beneficiaries care and development: respect of hygiene, activities organized in the center, medical care, and family like environment and healthy living
-Update activities organized for the beneficiaries and strengthen the schedule (i.e Create basic training or educational materials according to the context and local culture)
-Ensure the link with medical organization in which children are followed up
-Take part to the children referral and welcome process: re integration process, job placement, internship, vocational training

Human resources:
-Take part in the recruitment of new staff
-Take part in the job description and planning activities
-Attend weekly staff and coordinator meeting
Development of the Centers
-Develop reliable and sustainable partnerships for the good functioning of the organization
-Take part to the network activities with other NGOs
-Implement and Insure the good practice beneficiaries care in order to be a model in this sector

Representation:
-Represent DT and its activities to key stakeholders (community, authorities, donors, NGOs, partners…).

Skills
Requirements of the position are:
-Proven experience working with children and adults with disabilities (autism, cerebral palsy…)
-Experience in Rehabilitation center and/or Residential center for children and adults with disabilities
-Motivation to work for a grassroots organization.
-Strong sense of initiative and ability to work independently.
-Ability and willingness to live in provinces.
-Patience, flexibility and a good sense of humor.
Diplomas
-Bachelor degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Educator or similar field.
