The transport infrastructure in Romania

Before digging into each means of transport in Romania, expats or tourists should be aware that the transport infrastructure in Romania is not that well developed or easy to navigate like in other countries of Europe. For instance, trains are slower and sometimes unreliable. Driving on the national roads by car can also be challenging, due to the lack of highways. And do not expect people to speak too much English in the train station or in the very small villages and towns. But staying informed is a priority before planning a trip to Romania. So here we go!

Travelling by train in Romania

This is maybe the cheapest way to travel across the country, while you can admire the scenery and enjoy a decent service. You can use the train if you want to enjoy a stress-free journey. We recommend you to take the routes which are crossing the Carpathians, as the landscapes are breathtaking. The main downside is the infrastructure, which is still very old. 

Buses in Romania
