Visit Nepal

Nepal is decorated by more than 60 mountains and most of them above 6000 meters, thus holding almost 80% of the highest peaks in the world followed by in numerous numbers of hills which are higher than 2500 meters.

In this article, I will try to list the most important place to visit in Nepal.

Lumbini:

Lumbini is the birth place of Buddha and is around six hour drive from Kathmandu. I would suggest to not take the flight unless it is extremely required, the reason being the flight rate are different from native and tourist. For instance, to travel to Lumbini, I have to pay USD 50 and a tourist would have to pay USD 160.

Chitwan National Park:

This park is on the way to Lumbini in the place called Narayangarh. So, it is good idea to have a 1-2 days transit and go around this park. It is a home for One-Horn Rhino and Bengal Tiger. You can also board an Elephant back and take bath with it.

Kanchanjunga:

Kanchanjunga is the third highest peak in the world and lies in the eastern part of Nepal bordering with India. It is not as famous as Mount Everest/Sagarmatha, which is the highest peak in the world or Mount Annapurna known for its notoriety but due to this very fact it attracts less tourist than other mountains in Nepal thus making the travel and accommodation cheaper for the visitor. Furthermore, if you Indian Visa, then you can further see some parts of India as well at absolutely no additional cost.

There are other places like Pokhara, Mustang, Kathmandu which are so popular with tourist that you will not be able to gain true Nepalese experience and also all the cost are really high, very much like in USA or Australia.
