Just a word of advice - the real estate market in Colombia is not like the market in the USA. There is little to no regulation of "realtors" - anyone can set up as a realtor, as a broker, to buy and sell property. The advice "Buyer Beware" is an understatement...you could buy a property only to find the "realtor" was not authorized to sell it, or that the title is unclear and you're not the owner at all, or the son or daughter of the parent who died and left the house, sold it illegally because the other siblings wanted to keep it - and resolving problems could and does take years in Colombia.

You are advised to rent to begin with, for at least a year in your target area. What may appear to be a nice residential area by day, may be a nightmare at night with parties and loud music literally all night long.
