visiting June and July

portlandstatemamma

Hi, I'm a Portland State student and I'm planning to visit San Miguel in late June and July.  I will have my two daughters with me which makes me a little nervous because I have never visited another country with them.  I am not looking for tour guide, I NEED to practice my espanol.  However, I am looking to make connections with some english speaking people there just in case I get in a hitch...  Does anyone have any words of advice for traveling there?  I pretty much have no idea what I'm doing...

Hi Portlandstatemamma, you have nothing to worry about. There is a LOT of English spoken in San Miguel, as there are upwards of twelve to fifteen thousand Expats living there. You will bump into many English speaking people the first day, and everyone is very friendly. Many of the Mexicans (not all) speak some English, and this is also helpful. It's not like going to some other parts of Mexico, or another location where no English is spoken. You'll have a blash, and enjoy!
