Driving license in Wales

Armand

Hi all,

Can a foreigner take the driving test in Wales?

What are the formalities to get a driver’s licence in Wales?

Do you need special or extra documents being an expatriate?

How much does it cost?

Thank you for participating ;).

You have to live in the UK for over 6 months before you can apply for a UK driving license. Your country's license is good for only one year, so your window to take the UK test is limited. If you go over the one year deadline, you have to apply for a provisional license and drive with a licensed driver who is over 21, and your car must carry a large, red, L, signifying you are a learner.  That's just the beginning.

You must pass the written theory test.

You must pass the hazard perception test.

Only after the above two have been passed can you apply to take the practical driving test.

Good luck!  It "ain't" easy!!!!!
