Guam is an island territory in the Western Pacific Ocean and is considered the largest island in the Mariana Islands archipelago. The island features tropical beaches, ancient stone pillars, and Chamorro villages. Guam is a perfect holiday destination to de-stress yourself from the monotonous lifestyle. A visit to Guam will seem like a breath of fresh air with the pristine clear waters of the ocean and magnificent white beaches.

Apart from being a popular beach destination, the island holds a rich cultural and historical heritage. The island has around 131 listed historic sites on the National Register of Historic Places. These popular historical landmarks on the island portray the fascinating tale of the struggles, resilience, and victories carried out in the prehistoric period. Not only is the island a perfect destination for adventure lovers to indulge in a host of marine activities, it is now one of the safest places to go on a vacation and also get vaccinated.

In collaboration with Guam's tourism and medical partners, the Guam Visitors Bureau launched Air V&V — a program for travelers interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine while vacationing in Guam. The Air V&V program offers visitors the administration of the vaccine (Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson/Janssen), COVID-19 tests as need, and digital vaccination records. Participants can enjoy concierge medical service in the comfort of their hotel while enjoying the beautiful island of Guam.

The Air V&V program is open for 12 years old and older visitors. Before going to Guam, all air passengers arriving to the U.S. (including Guam) from a foreign country are required to take a viral COVID-19 test no more than 72 hours prior to departure and to present the negative result or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 to the airline before boarding the flight.

For those who have a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of arrival in Guam, proof of full vaccination by an FDA- or WHO-authorized vaccine will be able to enjoy the island quarantine free. As for the passengers who do not qualify for an exemption will be quarantined at a government facility.

With the shortage of COVID-19 vaccines in some of the Asia countries, the Air V&V program captures a unique demographic of travelers around the world that are tired of waiting to get vaccinated in this pandemic. As the end of August 2021, the program welcomed almost 2,000 visitors from Taiwan, Philippines, Japan, and Thailand who came to Guam for vacation and to get vaccinated.
