Expat Club is proud to announce exclusive and high-quality wine appreciation workshops. Under the guidance of a licensed wine expert from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET), the world’s foremost international institution in wine and spirits education, we are going to discover a wide variety of wines over several sessions. Each session is dedicated to a specific country, region, grape or theme. You can register for individual or multiple sessions.

Wednesday 13 December – Riesling: from bone dry to sweet
How much do you know about the wine lovers’ coveted white grape? No grape has more faces than Riesling. Germany is the bench mark for Riesling wines. But Rieslings from Austria, France and Australia deserve their place on the Riesling wine market. Apart from different origins we will taste Riesling made in a very dry style to the famous rich sweet style.

During each session we typically taste 7 to 9 different wines in various price ranges, including great buys and very high quality. Each and every bottle is carefully selected by our WSET partner to ensure you can optimally taste the wine’s characteristics and compare them with other wines. Put differently, you will only be served high quality wines. This is a serious appreciation course that lasts for about 2,5 hours. Of course having fun and socialising is part of the deal, but the main objective is to truly better understand and learn to appreciate the wines that we’re tasting.

During these workshops our instructor will explain various aspects of the wines we will taste and the theme of the evening. This is not just an introduction comparable to regular tasting events that you find all over town. These workshop are truly about educate us on a variety of aspects. Expect theory, pictures, and videos, and you should be prepared to take notes and fully use your senses.

How to register?
We need to know how many people are coming to prepare the rooms, so you must book in advance. If you cannot join anymore, you can cancel up to 48 hours in advance and you will receive credit for another session or you can use the fee for one of our trips.
