Pet lovers in Hanoi - I've come to know some extraordinary girls who've founded and run their own pet shelter called Hanoi Pet Adoption (web site and Facebook). I watched them operate and having done pet rescue for 20 years myself, I can vouch for them.
Their goal is to get every stray and abandoned cat and dog off the streets of Hanoi so the Vietnamese stop thinking that's "normal." These girls don't know it can't be done so they're doing it, pet by pet by pet.
The before-and-after photos of these street animals after treatment is like Martians to humans, that different.
There's a fundraiser for them at the Red River Tea Room (pub/bar) in the Tay Ho (expat) area on West Lake, on Wednesday, September 5, at 6 pm. Entrance donation is 100,000 dong, which buys drinks and stuff. There are super raffle prizes and music and video and fun people.
Please tell all of your friends!
If you can't go, or you don't live in Hanoi, please consider sending them the entrance donation on Pay Pal or something. You can find them on hanoipetadoption.com or their Facebook page with that name. These girls deserve to be canonized.
Thanks!
