There is the law - and then there is the reality at shady language centers. One of those i. gave me an absurdly illgeal Chinese contract and ii. never paid a single Dong. iii. A lawyer-friend wrote letters, but hard core crooks just laugh it off. No WP (yet). If everybody was waiting for their Work Permits, good night. These weeks in Hanoi were expensive. And while any employer can fire anyone at will, they still should pay. (Had a Business VISA which cost hundreds more - hoping that would make working less of a criminal offense. Wish I could attend. Hope the law firm will give the audience practical advice, too.
