Bones 'n Barrels Sentosa, celebrates, International Women’s Day, with Michelle SgP, and her power-packed all-female band Audrey Tang (Drums) and Wendy Phua (Bass) in a crossover of Soul, Pop, Jazz and blues and originals, and a celebration of the music of women artistes from around the world. A perfect night by strong, independent, lovely, warmhearted women.
Tonight, Michelle comes in, not only with music flavours of our world but is also surrounded with a power packed guest appearances from various facets of professional life with a common link to music, film & literature, sharing about their journeys. Come celebrate the journey of womanhood, meet like minded women, and hang with our loving partners and friends.

JOSEPHINE CHIA, Award Winning Author

Josephine writes both fiction and non-fiction. She writes about her heritage and her impoverished Kampong upbringing.
Josephine has won Literary awards and prizes in UK and Singapore. Her non-fiction book, Kampong Spirit Gotong Royong life in Potong Pasir 1955 to 1965 won the Singapore Literature Prize In 2014.
Josephine has published twelve books. Three of her books are about Kampong Potong Pasir, two of which are adult books and one children’s . Her novels are based on Singapore’s social history.
She mentors aspiring Writers and run Creative writing workshops and gives talks.

JACQUELINE CHAN
Partner, Millbank LLP

Jacqueline Chan is a partner in the Singapore office of Milbank LLP, a leading international law firm, and has extensive experience advising on a wide range of international corporate finance and M&A transactions across the globe.

Jacqueline has won many awards in her field, including being recognized by industry publications as an expert in the fields of M&A, corporate finance and restructuring, and was named one of the 30 most influential private equity lawyers around the world under 40 years of age.

She is a mother to two boys aged 13 and 11 and sits on the board of Very Special Arts, a registered charity dedicated to enhancing and facilitating visual and performing arts for the disabled community in Singapore. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the piano and keyboard for various charity events and bands. — with Jacqueline Chan.

TANNY CHIA,
Head & Creative Director(Branding), Mediacorp

Leveraging on 15 years international experience as a senior communications and content strategist -- including with a Nobel Prize-winning NGO -- and a journalist with major media outlets, Tanny has worked with brands and organisations to build brand awareness and engage with Asian audiences through digital channels. Having lived and worked in six cities including Hong Kong, Beijing and Toronto, she brings a global perspective.

As a creative, her multimedia works have been nominated for Canada’s equivalent of the Emmys, screened at festivals and on TV in Canada, Italy and Singapore, and shown at exhibitions.

MATHILDA D'SILVA
Founder, Marzel

Mathilda is in the business of ensuring digital-social success for brands by constantly experimenting and learning better ways to be reach out to customers sincerely. Having driven audience & community development via the microphone, camera and stage for the last 15 years, leading teams in TV and radio production as well as social media community management with Mediacorp and StarHub.

Today she wants to use her corporate skills for good through her start-up Marzel, which explores how visuals and social media can affect global behaviour to educate, entertain and grow communities around sustainability, social enterprises and animal rights.

Mathilda also happens to be an absolutely amazing vocal talent. A Singapore Idol Finalist, she has performed for Thai King Bhumipol Adulyadej, and completed a successful tour of the Java Jazz Festival. — with Mathilda Dsilva.

IRENE JANSEN
Founder, One Heart One Voice

Irene, a cancer survivor, lives her life to her fullest, often saying that she there is a reason to be given a 2nd chance in life and how she find purpose in her work. She finds it important to give back. She founded One Heart One Voice, working with marginalised students, helping Special Needs to find a voice to believe in themselves and sing.

While her interest in cooking led her to name her show The Singing Chef and Kitchen Crooners, where she's hosted her own cooking show with Asian Food Channel with high ratings from viewers in Asia. While her other accolades includes voice coach for Wild Monkey Goes West, nominated for Best Production at Life Awards 2015. — with Irene Jansen.

YIN MAY
Singer-Songwriter

When Yin May, mother of two with a successful career in advertising and copywriting, almost lost her daughter Vera, born with multiple disabilities due to a rare genetic condition called Trisomy 18, she asked herself “Why”. As she witnessed how Vera chose to cling on, inspired Yin May to pick up the music she left behind in her youth, starting with sharing the journey with Vera in song, and telling this special girl’s story to the world.

is inspired by several children with rare disorders, including Vera,released in support of children's charity Rare Disorders Society (Singapore). Yin May volunteered in the creative development and supervision of charity's awareness video, helping the charity raise funds through downloads from the video.

Nominated “Overall Best Female Artiste” at VIMA Music Awards and for “Best Genre-Bender Award”, Michelle's song "Escape" made it to a global listing on Unsigned Only 2018, the only Singaporean and rare Asian artiste listed amongst artistes predominantly from North/South America, Europe, Australia, for 3 categories “Adult Contemporary Alternative”, “Singer-Songwriter” & “Screenshot”. Since its launch in January 2018, Multiplicity has since made its rounds in shows in Italy (Milan, Rome, Bologna), Germany(Wesel), Philippines(Manila), Vietnam(DaLat, Ho Chi Minh), Thailand (Phuket), France(Paris).

Multiplicity marks the essence of Michelle’s music, that is, beauty in diversity and global collaboration, with Singapore as the centrifugal force. Her project Multiplicity - featured tracks involving up to 68 individuals from 10 nationalities, from ages 20s to 70s, in a myriad of genres (soul/funk/blues/jazz/pop/edm/world), filmed and recorded in 6 different cities – Madrid(Spain), Bologna(Italy), Los Angeles(USA), Melbourne(Australia), Phuket(Thailand), Singapore. The project involved an impressive diverse crew including Grammy nominees to session players for stars Stevie Wonder, George Benson, Jennifer Lopez, and scene pioneers, with SINGAPORE arts/music industry input as the red wire for ALL tracks.
