Child Psychology Workshop

I am Mira Jamnadas Kotecha, a Registered Psychologist with the British Psychological society (BPS) and the Uganda Counselling Association.

I have multicultural experience from the UK, Dubai, and Uganda for adults as well as children.

I will be conducting a one-day workshop on the developmental psychology of children. This will be useful for parents, teachers and anyone who may be interested in the subject. Especially those who interact with primary year children on a regular basis.

It is very important for developmentally delayed children to receive the right diagnosis and treatment therapy at an early stage in life. The earlier they are helped, the easier it is for them to adapt to coping strategies. This workshop will be the first step for you to be able to help children with developmental delays such as autism, ADHD, speech delays, and motor delays.

The workshop will help you:

Ø Identify if there is a problem and seek the appropriate help for the children

Ø You will learn the basics of applied behavioural analysis therapy (ABA) so you can apply it within your home / class / school setting until the child starts receiving appropriate help from a professional

Ø It will help you differentiate between mental developmental delays and child tantrums

Ø It will teach you basic coping strategies with children who may have mental developmental delays and how to assist these children in the right manner.
