You are invited to join the First African Angara Training Course on green building / Superadobe, taught by Domoterra in collaboration with African Angara and with the support of the Ecole des Sables in Toubab Dialaw, Senegal, in order to provide technical training in superadobe architecture with the opportunity for professional development in the field of bio-construction. This training can also be a great opportunity to know a new country, a new culture.
The dates are December 22 2016 to January 15 2017, the last week from 8 to 15 January is optional but recommended.
WHO CAN COME:
Our workshops are for any person, professionals or not, eager to acquire Superadobe technique, to build his/her own house on their land making big savings on the price of construction.
Families who want to build their own house.
People interested in the building trades, NGOs with action in the field of housing and infrastructure in Africa, professionals from the related construction techniques of green building, energy efficient housing, vernacular architecture, etc., university students of Architecture, Technical Architecture, Civil Engineering and similar degrees or individuals interested in self-construction.
OBJETIVE:
The group of students will experience the art of building on a 7.07 m2 dome in Superadobe, led by 3 experts monitors.
After training, students will be able to carry and technical management of buildings of similar size greater completely autonomously. knowledge of the art, principles of design, a real practical experience of construction and integration of the experience that is building a house by a group of people cooperating with each other, reinforcing their resources and skills in computer is obtained.
DURATION: 25 days
The training program for the structure is 25 school days (8 hs./day) for a dome of 7.07 m2, comprising a theory part (10% hs.) And extensive practical education (90% hs. )
All phases of the construction process will be studied, the first 2 weeks some of them and the last phase the thrid week.
From 22 December to 7 January: stakeout, drainage, foundation, site preparation, construction of the structure, opening holes pitch, waterproofing
From 8 to 15 January : finishing coatings and screeds will be done (last part of the process of a house)
NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS:
Maximum group of students: 30 people. (Inscriptions by order of arrival)
ACCOMODATION: Center Ecole des Sables at Toubab Diallaw, Senegal. Located on the heights of the fishing village of Toubab Dialaw, 55km south of Dakar, facing the ocean, lagoon and savannah s extends over 4 hectares and a half. Meals are served in the restaurant of the center.The theory classes will be held in the conference room.It has an administrative area with a internet connection wifi.
COSTS AND PAYMENT:
FROM 22 TO 15 JANUARY: 820 TOTAL (early bird 30ocotber- reservation costs 350euros) If you pay the reservation after 30october, the total cost will be 900 euros.
If you can not do the third week, the total costs from 22 Decembre to 7 January : 620 euros (early bird) 700 euros after 30 September.
*You will have to pay the first part of course- 350 euros to reserve your place. The remaining amount will be paid the first day of the course.
If you make the reservation before 30 ocotober you will have a discount.
*If you are african citizen and resident please contact us to see possibilities of payment.
*You will obtain a diploma according your time of training.
Total cost is included the training course, diploma , accommodation , food, transport from Airport to Toubab Dialaw. ( is not included the flight ticket or mineral water)
DISCOUNTS:
- If you make the payment of the reservation 350 euros, before October 30th
-Group of friends. If you come together a group of 4friends minimum, you will have 15% discount each.
-Couple. 20% off your partner. If your partner does not want to do the course but he/she wants to sleep and eat with you, the costs for food and accommodation will be 380 euros.
-Children. Write to us with time if you desire to come with your children, we can organice all you need for them.We will offer you free food and accommodation for children under 6 years old.
PRACTICAL INFORMATION:
Arrival on 21th December . We will pick you up at the airport in Dakar. The yellow fever vaccine is not mandatory but is recommended.
