Get an insight of expats' daily life in Texas and read their blog
Add your blogI am a British expat wife and mum, I have recently joined a new community in Austin, follow my blog and watch the journey unfold!
I am a thirty-something mother to three children aged 6 and under. Currently residing in Texas, I am originally from Aberdeen moving overseas in February 2014 with hubbys work. After making the big move, I decided, (whilst having the opportunity) to focus on my second love, (my first is my family) which is my writing. Since my Dad bought his first Amstrad computer in the late 80s I have been writing stories, (they were very similar to Enid Blytons The Famous Five books back then). I enjoy writing, (although [disclaimer] Im no undiscovered hotshot writer ) and thought Id take a stab at keeping a blog about something I know plenty about, (being a mum) whilst experiencing something new (moving to Texas).
Here I chat about life, things I love, life changes as a result of being an expat, expat pros and cons, life as newlyweds, travel, and so many things.
We are a family of 6 that moved from Houston, TX to Oslo, Norway and then on to Paris, France. We are now back in Houston, TX.
Why I Write This Blog On the one hand, I started this blog or rather the German version of it to keep my friends in Germany up to date with my life and my experiences in the USA, especially southern Texas. And I started to translate the German version into English here in this weblog so that my English friends can more easily read it as well. But, come to think of it, there is on the other hand a further purpose, both for this and the German version, viz. to tell about my personal experiences in and to explain about my adopted country, the United States of America, so as to hopefully provide a better understanding of this beautiful country that much too often is misunderstood and misappreciated, and to eliminate prejudices.
I write about my expat life as a German in Texas as well as trips throughout the word.
