My name is Erika Kertesz. I come from Hungary, that's where I studied for my BA degree in jazz singing. I give singing lessons to adults, and piano lessons to kids. I lived in Amsterdam for 7 years, so I give lessons in Dutch and in English too.

Vocal lessons

Everybody is different, and so I teach everybody differently. It doesn't matter why you sing, you are a professional with some weak points, or you think of singing more like a hobby. What matters is that you spend a good time singing with me. It works like meditation!

I can help you find your own musical style, or if you already know what you want we can work together to make you an even better singer.
If you are interested in jazz or pop, but you don't know many works, we can build you a nice repertoire, and find the perfect songs that fit your style.
If you already know quite a few songs but you are not pleased with the rest, we can work on your pronunciation, musical presence and even your improvisations.
If you feel like you know everything about singing but have difficulties when on stage, or quite the opposite :-), then this can be our focus. Since I have quite a few years behind me full of concerts, this is my favourite thing to work on.
Any questions you may have about music theory, history or practical details about self-managing, feel free to ask.

Do not worry about the technical details. I can find you the perfect instrumental backing tracks in your own key, which you can bring home to practice

Piano lessons to kids (ook in het Nederlands)

I have little students from the age of 4. This might sound very young, but believe me, it is never too early to start spending time with music You better wait a few more years to play the guitar or wind instruments, but piano will give children the most important basics. At this early age we play a lot at the lessons, we get acquainted with music. We learn the name of the notes, start to learn little melodies, listen to different styles, learn about instruments, we draw and play musical memory games. Nothing boring! :) This is a great way for kids to get curious about instruments, songs, and music in general. The older they get, the more serious it gets.
I am specialised in children lessons, because in my opinion they require a different approach to music, which I feel I am good at. They need a kind, patient teacher, a musical play-date for 30 minutes. And of course children's brain develop faster with musical training.

Adult beginners are also welcome at my classes. No games there though! ;)
