Hello all - I'm new to the forum

I am considering a move to Barbados and would love to hear from others who have done this.  I would be moving from Canada.  My boyfriend lives there (he is Bajan)and I was wondering if it's possible to move there without having to get married.
I'm also interested in the health care system and how it would work for me. 
I am in my 50's and would not be looking to work there.
Any info you can share with me would be greatly appreciated.
