URGENT...Need caregiver and room/apartment

I am writing on behalf of my American brother-in-law and his 5 siblings, who has an advanced form of cancer and is currently in a hospital in Bangkok.

Two of the siblings are traveling over from the U.S. next week (arriving around May 26th)and need to arrange some sort of hospice care for him.  He is too weak and unstable to travel.

Does anyone have any suggestions?  We welcome your ideas.

Thank you.

Hi and welcome to the forum rickyg!

I hope other members will be able to give you some advices soon!

I am not sure you will find hospice services like those that exist in the west but you can give the place below a try.  If such services are found please post because this topic will be of interest to many expats in Thailand.

Mahavajiralongkorn Cancer Centre

As Straydog noted above, Maha Vajiralongkorn Cancer Centre is a specialist hospice, located in Pathum Thani, a small province immediately north of Bangkok (45 mins taxi drive from central BKK if the traffic is ok). I tried searching for their website but couldn't find one (not uncommon here), but I believe their contact details are:

Mahavajiralongkorn Cancer Center
139 Moo 4, Rangsit-Nakhon Nayok Road, 12110 THANYABURI, Pathum Thani
tel: +66 254619606

(address from http://www.hotfrog.in.th/Companies/Maha … cer-Center)

I also came across a Bangkok Post report about it from a few years ago:

bangkokpost.com/opinion/opinion/27578/

The Bangkok Hospital company (a chain of private hospitals) has a specialist cancer-care hospital in Bangkok called Wattanosoth. Their website's not very detailed but the contact details can be found here:

bangkokhospital.com/wattanosoth/index.php?p=en/contactus_bkkwattonosoth

I wish you and your family all the best.
