Residency Permit Bahrain

Hello everyone,
we are a french family planning to live in Bahrain, since my husband is currently working in Khobar, KSA.
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to get a residency permit in Bahrain whilst having a saudi employer ?
If one opens his own "individual company" in Bahrain, my husband being an architect, will that allow us to get residency etc... ?
Thanks,
Jessy

Hello Jessy and welcome to the forum !

First, there is a French section (you clic on the French flag on top right to go there). It's a real different section, not only a duplication of that one google-translated :D

As far as your visa problem is concern, usually, if you carry an iqama (the Saudi residence permit), you are entitled to a bahraini resident visa. Once you get the Saudi documents, you can apply for the Bahraini ones. A lot of expats working in the Eastern Saudi Arabia are living in Bahrain.
For the self employed part, I'm not really sure about the visas in that case. Maybe you'll be able to find usefull information on the site of the LMRA : http://portal.lmra.bh/english/

Hope this will help !
Wish you all the best for your expatriation...

Friendly yours

Olivier
