I am new to Riyadh and this website. I am embarrassed to ask such a simple question, so here goes:
My cel phone number is 054-680-3452
I want my family in New York to have the mobile phone to call me for emergencies, but they have been unable to reach my phone. I gave them:
011-966-54-680-3452
Is this the right prefix to call from the USA?. Please advise and I thank you for your assistance.

hi and welcome to KSA, but i think u used the wrong way, to let them call u "+966-54-680-3452" not "011-966-54-680-3452"

You did give them the right number to call because calling out from the USA is 011 then country code then number-unlike the rest of the world.
I've been calling my husband 01196654xxxxxxx. Just make sure they have an international calling provider on their land line or if calling from a cell phone that international calls are allowed/turned on. Or else, buy a calling card from any convenience store or gas-station. Good Luck
