Can my spouse apply for spouse visa in Norway?

Hi,

I am in Norway on a skilled worker visa and my fiance (now spouse) visa was rejected when we applied together.

We are not EU citizens but she has a tourist Schengen visa.

Can she arrive to Norway and then apply for a spouse visa? Waiting for a spouse visa away from me for at least 4 months is just inhumane.

Yes, she can

Hello Steve,
Sorry to hear your spouse visa rejected.
You would need to check UDI's website if she can apply for spouse visa in Norway. It would depend i think from where she is from. Like for me, we have to submit from Philippines.
Another way, since you mentioned she has tourist visa, she can also apply for skilled worker if applicable. then she can stay longer if approved.

Kind Regards,
Joan

I am from Russia and she is from Kazakhstan. According to UDI:

She can apply from Norway as she has a bachelors degree and has a valid Schengen visa.
