New- rarre fruiter looking for property in Belizze

Hi all, great to know this board exists.

i am a male in my 50s from the New Orleans area.
i am looking for a property to either retire in
or, at first, to spend winters/summers

i live in the suburbs and want more space.
i grow tropical and other rare fruit as a hobby (almost full time :) )
i have almost 100 edible plants in New Orleans, and we get frost here
some years in winter, which limits the species i can grow.

i also would much rather be part of a small community
rather than 1 fish in a really large pond (lake?)

so i am looking for 1 to 10 or more acres

1 is really all i need, but also entertaining the idea of
rentals, bed+breakfast, ecotourism etc., depending on the properties available.

Namaste,
Brad

Lots of areas of the country would likely fit your desires. I have a small home in Placencia Village, but land on the Placencia peninsula would likely be too expensive for what you want. I suggest looking around the Stann Creek District near one of the two major highways that cross the area.

Be sure to use the search function of this forum to find lots of info, and answer questions you don't even know you should ask yet.

Plan on at least 3 trips of a week or more exploring during different times of the year to  put your own sandals in the sand.

I was hoping a reply would come in and explain this for me and i need not ask, but what is a rarre fruiter.  By the way some fruits and vegetables do not suceed in Belize because they need the cold snap of winter. Still miffed I can't have a couple of Apple trees growing in the yard.
