Information about Istanbul for my master thesis needed!

Hey guys,

I am writting to you as I am looking urgently for any kind of help!
I am writing my master about Istanbul as a metropolis.
And I need a lot of facts, numbers some useful materials! About citizens, industries, city growth, plans for the growth in terms of transport, communications, motorways, universities, administration, etc.that I could use in my thesis and prove or not whether Istanbul is a metropolitan city
Do you know any web pages where I could find such information or any articles ( of course in English!) that I could use in my master thesis?
Could you kindly ask your friends if they know any things like this or maybe could recommend some books?
It's very urgent and I would be very happy to receive any help from you and more then very very amazingly gratefull for you help!
