I opened this thread in reply to a PM I received about petroncontracting.com.

Start with the basics

It's a new domain and the registrants hide their real identities. Bad signs.

To the site, the first things to notice being they've forgotten to add their logo and another company's logo is all over the photos.

The address on their site, 1391 Haile Selasie Rd, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, is a shopping or entertainment centre with night clubs, restaurants and whatever, and I remember thisnsame address being used by several oil company scams that have appeared on the forum over the last few months.
It looks a lot like a scam factory.

The site uses stock images from a variety of tourist and job sites - red flags are waving

The featured projects are photos taken from other sites

That's enough for me to put this down as someone I wouldn't send money to.
The person who sent the PM didn't say if they'd been asked for money for a visa or whatever other fee, but I'd be willing to bet they have, or that's next on the list.
