Hi, can anyone help? I am from the U.K. staying with my grandparents. I want to take up a part time course to learn Maltese, however, I have not been able to find out if this qualifies me as a student and what I need to do to be able to stay in Malta. I was told I needed to register at the police station, they couldn't see why I had gone there and sent me to the ETC at Hal far, who then told me I shouldn't be there and to go to the British Embassy. Can anyone help with the correct information as to what I need to do? I should add my grandparents are elderly Maltese who are as confused as I am

Take a look at the identity Malta site for some of the entry requirements. I assume you are UK national.

I somehow doubt that a part time course in Maltese would qualify for residence as a student though.
