Regarding the duration of stay mentioned in the visa

My name is Amogh Pathak enrolled for International Project Development. The topic regarding validity of my stay in France.
The visa awarded to me is valid from 07/09/2018 to 07/09/2019 where as my curriculum ends on 31/12/2019.

Can you please guide me as to what could be reson for it?

Also, what should be my line of action if I need to extend the duration validity.

Hello....

French authority always granted a long stay visa for 1 year only, but you can extend this visa. Go to the OFII (where you reside) AS SOON AS you arrive in France, they will tell you what you need to do step by step regarding your purpose of stay, maybe you will be granted a 'carte de sejour', maybe not, depends on what you're doing in France.. Bear in mind This matter takes long time to process, so do it in priority.
